New metro rail will become the transport spine for Greater Western Sydney, connecting communities and travellers with the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the growing region.

The city-shaping project, from St Marys through to the new airport and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, will provide a major economic stimulus for western Sydney, creating more than 14,000 jobs during construction for the NSW and national economies.

The 23-kilometre new railway will link residential areas with job hubs including the new Aerotropolis and connect travellers from the new airport to the rest of Sydney’s public transport system.

Scope of Works

WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE

The services provided by SH Engineering involved all activities associated with the development of Precast solutions in the pre-contract business function.  Such activities included:

  1. Tender design, engineering and constructability management and coordination of precast facilities. This included organisation of face to face and virtual bid teams to gather inputs from a variety of stakeholders, designers, consultants, delivery teams, operational services, finance, commercial and legal.
  2. Communicate detailed knowledge of design development approval and precast construction processes with the relevant tender teams.
  3. Resolved complex technical, strategic, and business issues with respect to precast segment construction.
  4. Implemented a robust time and budget tracking process in accordance with the targets directed by our client.
  5. Liaised and directed the procurement of client’s consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors with respect to the entire precast construction process in accordance with internal policies and guidelines.
  6. Assisted in the coordination, preparation, review, and surveillance of all aspects of design and precast construction deliverables considering whole of life value, cost savings, safety in design, and key innovations. Such activities included: Presentation of precast design options and drawings for potential clients. Preparation of scope of work and technical criteria (SWTC) and tender documentation. Preparation and submission of precast construction methodologies and briefs;
  7. Undertook visits to the tender project site and consultant offices to ensure that commitments were being fulfilled in accordance with contractual obligations and expectations.
  8. Provision of reports as required by the client to ensure that management is properly informed in respect of all aspects pertaining to the activities undertaken.
